Rides : 2013 Mercedes-Benz SL550 starts at $106,375

The German based automaker Mercedes-Benz has recently announced the starting price for the 2013 SL550, which has been set at 106,375 USD.

After being teased, leaked and then eventually presented in December 2011, the new generation of the popular Mercedes-Benz SL-Class is finally here and the SL550 is once again placed into the spotlights, this time by revealing its starting price, which has been set at $106,375, including an $875 destination charge.
As a reminder, the sixth generation of the Mercedes-Benz SL-Class was officially presented to the public in January 2012, at the North American International Auto Show (NAIAS) in Detroit. The Mercedes-Benz SL550 is powered by a 4.7 liter direct injected V8 engine, which is developing a total output of 429 horsepower and 516 lb-ft of torque.
The SL550’s engine is mated to a seven-speed adaptive automatic transmission which is helping the model to accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in just 4.5 seconds, nearly a second quicker than the 2012 model, which is also heavier than its successor (275 pounds extra). The Mercedes-Benz SL550 will be joined in the lineup, in July 2012, by the powerful SL63 AMG, but the SL65 AMG is also under development.
