Rides : Audi S3 to rival BMW M135i

The German based automaker Audi is currently working on the new generation of the Audi S3, which will go against the BMW M135i.

Even if there is no official word on this from the company just yet, the guys at autocar.co.uk are saying that the 2013 Audi S3 will be powered by a 2.0 liter four-cylinder engine, with the Audi Valve Lift System, developing a total output of 280 horsepower and 380 Nm of torque. All this power will be sent to the new Quattro all-wheel drive system through a six-speed manual or a seven-speed S-tronic automatic transmission. The new generation of the Audi S3 will be 80 kg lighter than the current one, even if its overall size has grown.
The 2013 Audi S3 will be designed in order to compete with the BMW M135i and the model will weigh 1,400 kg. The new generation of the Audi S3 is expected to be able to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 5.5 seconds before reaching an electronically limited top speed of 250 km/h. The new German hot hatch will be officially presented to the public at the 2012 Paris Motor Show this autumn. More details about it will be announced at the French event.
