EDM news : Confirmed: Electric Daisy Carnival (EDC) Orlando will take place November 9th and 10th

We are finally able to confirm: the famed Electric Daisy Carnival (EDC) music festival will come to Orlando, Florida on November 9th and 10th.
Originally, we reported that the date was the 23rd and 24th of November, which is Thanksgiving weekend. This was due to an initial email tip as well as the inadvertent leak from Umek’s booking calendar:

We have now learned that, though this was an earlier planned date, the inner circle of Insomniac Events decided that the 9th and 10th was a better weekend for their purposes. There were concerns that the holiday may make travel difficult and that this may impact the ability of EDC Orlando to draw attendees from outside the local area. Insomniac events has neglected to respond to any of our repeated requests for comment. I feel a bit like a psycho ex-girlfriend at this point.
Our initial report also highlighted the Florida turf war between Insomniac and Committee Entertainment, behind the international EDM paint-party Dayglow Tour. Committee has also failed to respond to numerous requests for comment.
Committee Entertainment had previously announced DanceGiving Music Festival in South Florida on the same weekend, November 23rd and 24th. With the date of this event clearly announced and publicized, Insomniac might have known they were competing directly with Committee not only for customers, but also for talent. A source with knowledge of the situation spoke on the condition of anonymity:

“It’s unreal. No one ever books a music festival in the same state during the same MONTH, let alone the same weekend. I’m not sure what’s going on between them, but this is a war.”

Previously, Committee and Insomniac had worked together on EDC Orlando 2011. We have now learned through additional, more highly placed informants that the date was moved partially to avoid conflicting with Committee’s DanceGiving Music Festival and needlessly provoking a dispute. Though there has been a small-scale turf war in the Orlando area between the two companies over smaller shows, it appears that when the stakes are higher with music festivals, the two EDM promotional giants are unwilling to make waves.

Committee Entertainment, behind the international Dayglow Tour, are listed as co-hosts on the bottom of the EDC 2011 flyer.

We are now extremely confident that we have the correct dates: EDC Orlando will take place on the 9th and 10th of November.
