Kicks : Nike Classic Cortez VNTG

Nike Classic Cortez VNTG
Arguably the best of 2010′s Year of the Snake releases, the Nike Cortez just showed off a couple of snake-Swooshed designs being readied for the Chinese New Year celebration.  Nike Sportswear also has a few new general releases on tap for the immediate future: three all-suede VNTG makeups that offer that antiqued line a breath of fresh air via metallic gold branding.  The rustic if still vibrant suede makes for an interesting contrast against the newness implied by the shiny parts; have a closer look at all three below and let us know if you’d go for a similar motif on the Blazer or Bruin.

Kicks : Jordan Melo M9 “Lock and Launch” Event Recap

Jordan Melo M9 Lock and Launch Event Recap
Some 1,500 local youngsters, a select group of media, and the extended Jordan Brand family gathered at the snazzy Cipriani Club 55 yesterday in NYC’s financial district for the Jordan Melo M9 ‘Lock and Launch’ event. The space offered up trials wherein attendees could test out Melo’s recently debuted ninth signature sneaker, a preview of some upcoming colorways (check out the ‘Year of the Snake’ here), and a viewing session for the first two episodes in the ‘Playing for the City That Made Me’ documentary series. Towards the latter half of the evening Carmelo Anthony hit the stage for a Q&A with Knicks legend Bernard King hosted by Sway of MTV fame. Up next, the musical guests kept things focused on the Big Apple, as French Montana and Fabolous both ran through their own quick sets that had the hometown crowd in a frenzy. Hit the jump with us to check out the Jordan Melo M9 ‘Lock and Launch’ event recap and stay tuned to Sneaker News for more shots from the floor featuring upcoming colorways of Melo and Jordan’s latest.

Kicks : Check Out The Nike Air Max 90 Premium “Snake” – Team Orange – Black

Nike Air Max 90 Premium Snake Team Orange Black

Nike Sportswear has at least three Year of the Snake-inspired Air Max 90s coming up soon, and here’s our first second look at a pair.  The Nike Air Max 90 Premium is back in Total Orange and black, the kind of two-toned colorup that already has a slightly sinister lean thanks to the Halloween association.  Add in the snake-scaled mudguard and this is clearly a design to take seriously; have a closer look below, let us know if these are the best of the Chinese New Year Air Max 90s.
