For most teens, this experience will be as close as they ever come in life to owning a new Mercedes-Benz: The luxury brand will open a driving school in the U.S. later this year.Already, we take pity on some of the world's most admired cars -- the hard braking, the skidding tires, the reckless disregard they will endure from gum-snapping teens. They are sure to text every detail about how they gave their instructors whiplash with sudden stops or jolted them by driving over curbs.
For those exalted few who do go on to an executive track in life, though, Mercedes could be making a very smart marketing move by making them familiar with their German-engineered product early in life.
This isn't just a promotional ploy; you'll have to pay up to get your teen in this class, but your children will be piloting Mercedes-Benz vehicles as part of the course.
Unfortunately Mercedes hasn't announced the location of the school or the price of the course yet. Expect to hear more later this spring. For now, let us know if you'd enroll your teen in the class assuming the fee was equivalent to or slightly higher than other driving schools.
