The lack of interest for the quality of their products leads to closing the Dodge Caliber production line, after the Chrysler model didn’t have the expected success on the market. According to the automaker, the last Dodge Caliber will leave the production line on the 23rd of November this year.
Even though the Caliber was the first Chrysler model to use the electromagnetically controlled all-wheel drive and the variable torque output, its sales, along with the ones of the similar Jeep Compass, never reached the expected number.
Chrysler is expected to launch a new Dodge compact sometimes next year, which will be fitted with a 1.4 liter turbocharged Fiat engine mated to a Fiat automatic transmission, and the model will be made in the US.
