After
the 2013 Cadillac XTS was teased and then even leaked ahead of the 2011
Los Angeles Auto Show, the North American based automotive giant
General Motors has finally presented it at one of the most important
automotive events of the year which is taking place over-seas.
The 2013 Cadillac XTS will be available initially with only one engine option, the 3.6 liter V6 unit developing a total output of 300 horsepower and having a peak torque of 264 lb-ft, with customers being able to choose eigher front-wheel or all-wheel drive configurations.
The average fuel consumption in the 2013 Cadillac XTS is 17/28 mpg city/highway for the front-wheel drive and 17/27 for the all-wheel drive model, but the FWD technology will be offered as standard, along with the six-speed automatic transmission, the GM Magnetic Ride Control Adaptive Suspension, the performance struts and Brembo brakes.
The new Cadillac XTS will also come with the CUE infotainment system which is the first fully capacitive touch-screen in the auto industry to incorporate proximity sensing and the first one to adopt the multi-touch gestures like those used with tablets and smartphones.
According to General Motors, the headroom, knee space and legroom are all generous and the XTS is expected to replace the Lincoln Town Car in limo services.
