Rides : 2013 Scion FR-S was unveiled in L.A.

The 2013 Scion FR-S, or the Toyota GT 86, has been officially unveiled during a special event in Los Angeles held last night, and the first official details and images of the model have been revealed.

As you probably already know, the Scion FR-S is actually the U.S. version of the Toyota GT 86, a sports car recently revealed at the 42nd edition of the Tokyo Motor Show, and the model has been developed together with Subaru, just like the BRZ. As it was expected, there are actually a few design differences between the Scion FR-S and the Toyota GT 86 and Scion has been kind enough to offer us a first image of the Subaru made engine.
According to the manufacturer, the Scion FR-S is powered by the same engine as the Toyota GT 86, the 2.0 liter, naturally aspirated, four-cylinder unit, treated with Toyota’s D-4s direct and port injection system, developed by Subaru, generating a total output of 197 horsepower and having a peak torque of 205 Nm (151 lb-ft), sent to the rear wheels with the help of a six-speed manual transmission. The front to rear weight ratio is 53:47, with the vehicle having the same low center of gravity, just like its Toyota brother.
