Rides : Check Out The Mercedes-Ducati SLK 55 AMG for the Bologna Motor Show

In order to celebrate the first anniversary of their partnership with Ducati, the AMG performance division of Mercedes-Benz has announced its plans to introduce a unique SLK 55 at the Bologna Motor Show.

According to the German based automaker Mercedes-Benz, AMG has been inspired by the Ducati Streetfighter 848 in designing the special edition of the SLK 55, and “yellow” is the key word when describing the model. As you can see from the images below, AMG has chosen a “streetfighter yellow” exterior paintjob which is continued in the cabin too on the contrast stitching for the black nappa leather seats. Besides the sports accents found inside, AMG is also offering illuminated sill plates and carbon fiber trim.

“Mercedes-AMG and Ducati stage joint appearance at the Bologna Motor Show (3 - 11 December 2011): the new SLK 55 AMG and the new Ducati Streetfighter 848 - both finished in “Streetfighter yellow” - are to go on show to the public at the north Italian motor show in a move set to underscore the importance of the cooperation entered into by Mercedes-AMG and Ducati one year ago”, as the automaker says in the official press release.

The SLK 55 AMG is powered by a 5.5 liter naturally aspirated V8 engine which is developing a total output of 416 horsepower and has a peak torque of 540 Nm (398 lb-ft). The vehicle can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.6 seconds and its top speed has been limited to 250 km/h (155 mph). The SLK 55 AMG has an average fuel consumption of 8.4 liters / 100 km and it’s emitting 195 g/km of CO2.
