The
Japanese based automaker Nissan and its North American division have
recently announced a recall for the Frontier, NV, Pathfinder, Xterra, FX
and M.
“The bolts that connect the engine oil cooler and the engine oil filter to the engine in these vehicles may have been manufactured to below specification strength”, as the NHTSA is saying in its report of the problem.According to the NHTSA, the problem could lead to a broken bolt which can cause a serious oil leak and if this leak would be severe enough, the oil pressure could force the engine to seize and cause an accident. 14.718 Nissan and Infiniti vehicles will be affected by this recall and their owners will have to make a trip back to the dealers starting from January, 2012. Owners of the above mentioned models can contact Nissan at 800-647-7261 or the NHTSA at 888-327-4236.
