Rides : Recall : Nissan Frontier, NV, Pathfinder, Xterra, Infiniti FX and M

The Japanese based automaker Nissan and its North American division have recently announced a recall for the Frontier, NV, Pathfinder, Xterra, FX and M.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has officially announced that the following models will be affected by the recall: the 2012 Nissan Frontier, the 2012 Nissan NV, the 2011 – 2012 Nissan Pathfinder, the 2011 – 2012 Nisan Xterra, the 2011 Infiniti FX and the 2012 Infiniti M. The NHTSA is also saying that these vehicles have been recalled because of a problem with the bolts which are connecting the engine oil filter and the engine oil cooler to the engine.

“The bolts that connect the engine oil cooler and the engine oil filter to the engine in these vehicles may have been manufactured to below specification strength”, as the NHTSA is saying in its report of the problem.

According to the NHTSA, the problem could lead to a broken bolt which can cause a serious oil leak and if this leak would be severe enough, the oil pressure could force the engine to seize and cause an accident. 14.718 Nissan and Infiniti vehicles will be affected by this recall and their owners will have to make a trip back to the dealers starting from January, 2012.
