Rides : Chevrolet Chevelle revival might hit Detroit Motor Show

The North American based automotive giant General Motors might be planning a revival for the classic Chevelle, and the model could be presented to the public at the 2012 Detroit Motor Show.

The revival of the iconic Chevrolet Chevelle has been in discussions for quite some time now and if a new generation of the model will hit the market, what better place to reveal it than the Detroit Motor Show. According to the guys over at jalopnik.com, the surprise concept prepared by General Motors for the 2012 North American International Auto Show (NAIAS) in Detroit could actually be a revival of the Chevrolet Chevelle. But since there aren’t any official details on this yet, we will have to wait a week more, until the model will be revealed.
As a reminder, the Chevrolet Chevelle was a mid-sized vehicle made by GM between 1963 and 1977 and it was one of the most successful nameplates of the company. The Chevrolet Chevelle came in a lot of body styles, like station wagons, convertibles, sedans and coupes, but the peak was “achieved” in 1973, when the Super Sport versions were produced. One of the most iconic model in the Chevelle lineup was the El Camino, but the vehicle was soon replaced by the Chevy Malibu.
