Rides : 365,000 BMW 5-Series and 6-Series in the United States

The German based automaker BMW has recently announced a recall for 365,000 units of the 5-Series and 6-Series in the United States because of a potential fire risk.

After the car manufacturer has announced a recall for 1.3 million cars worldwide just a day before writing this article, BMW is once again “highlighted”, this time by having to admit that out of the 1.3m vehicles, 367,000 have been sold in the United States. According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, all BMW 5-Series and BMW 6-Series, made between 2003 and 2010, will have to be taken back to the dealers because of a problem with the battery cable cover in the trunk, which might have been incorrectly installed.
The NTHSA says that the battery cable cover in the trunk might have been improperly installed and if ignored, this can lead to start failure and even fire. There is no word on any reports received from customers about any crashes or injuries caused by this problem in the 5-Series and 6-Series. Owners of the two models mentioned above will have to drive their vehicles to the local dealers and the repair will take about 30 minutes, at no charge.
