The
Swedish based automaker Volvo has recently announced a recall for the
S60, S80, XC60 and XC70 models, because of a problem with the electric
wiring.
“In these vehicles, the wire harness under the front seats may have not been attached properly to the seat frame. As a result, when the seats are moved to adjust the seating positions, the wire harness may get pulled, causing it to disconnect. In the event of a crash, the front and/or side impact airbags may deploy improperly or not at all, increasing the risk of an injury. Also, the lap belt pretensioner may not deploy”, as the NHTSA says in its recalls summary of the problem.Volvo says that 17,000 units of the 2012 S60, S80, XC60 and XC70 will be affected by this recall, which was issued on February 27. The recall is expected to begin on the 30th of March. Owners of the above mentioned models can contact Volvo at 1-800-458-1552.
