Rides : Porsche 911 Carrera S gets more power

Porsche has recently announced that the new generation of the 911 Carrera S will get more power from the same 3.8 liter boxer engine.

The new generation of the Porsche 911 Carrera S (991) will get a power boost from a new Powerkit which is focusing on the dynamic properties of the supercar. According to the German based automaker, the Porsche 911 Carrera S will get 30 horsepower more to a total output of 430 HP. Thanks to the additional power, the sports car can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 4.0 seconds with the PDK in Sport Plus mode. The Powerkit is also raising the top speed to 306 km/h with the PDK and to 308 km/h with a seven-speed manual transmission.
Even if the new generation of the Porsche 911 Carrera S is getting 7 percent more power, the fuel economy hasn’t been affected and the German sports car is still burning the same amount of fuel, thanks to carefully tuned modifications and “adaptations to the electronic engine management”. For sportier driving properties, the Powerkit also includes the Sport Chrono package with dynamic engine mounts. Besides the power boost, the 911 Carrera S is also being offered with an aerodynamically tuned exterior. Porsche didn’t announce the price of the upgrade yet.
