The
German based automaker Mercedes-Benz has recently released the first
promotional video with the all-new SLS AMG Electric Drive.
After it was officially presented
to the public for the first time in a world premiere during the 2012
Paris Motor Show, the all-new Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG Electric Drive is
being placed into the spotlights once again, this time with the carmaker
releasing the first video with the model. Even if we can’t hear it
running in the video posted below, the SLS AMG Electric Drive might just
well be the very first electric car which people can dream owning. The Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG Electric Drive is coming with four synchronous electric motors, each of them powering a wheel, and the total output developed is 740 HP (551 kW) and 999 Nm of torque (738 lb-ft). The 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) acceleration is done in just 3.9 seconds and the supercar can reach a top speed of 249 km/h (155 mph). Two independent transmissions have been fitted to the model that provide direct drive to each axle and the AMG Torque Dynamics system is able to provide selective drive to individual wheels depending on the type of traction available, in three different modes: comfort, sport and sport plus. The model will go on sale in Germany next year and its price has been set at 416,500 euros.
