Hurricane Sandy didn't discriminate when it made landfall in the New York Metro area. Like many of the businesses in Zone A, words can't describe the damage caused by this storm. Carousel Collision, known for it's quality work on high end vehicles, suffered a great deal of damage. With the lack of power in the affected area, it's difficult for the proprietor to clean up and resume business. Although, Frankie has a "Back To Business, Resilient" mentality, he took time out to give back. Frank and his business partner Allen waited on line with everyone else for fuel but the fuel they were purchasing was not for their own vehicles. Frank lost 2 vehicle and a place to live during Hurricane Sandy. One would think after losing everything that giving back would be the first thing on their mind. Collectively they purchased 50 Gallons of fuel and gave it to those in need. Stories like this you won't hear much of. This storm was a life changing experience. Many people who didn't have much lost it all. While many people who had it all, like those who didn't have much, lost it all. Making them temporarily 'one in the same'. being a business owner there are ways to rebuild, Insurance, FEMA. But for someone who doesn't have it, they're pretty much placed further behind the 8 ball. Making life even more difficult than it was pre-hurricane. Now those that don't have it has to compete with other less fortunate people. After receiving power and hot water in her Staten Island apartment, a friend of mine offered her place as a temporary shelter to those who needed to take a shower (via Facebook status). When asked why, her response was "I'm just a girl trying to save the world". Stories like this you don't hear often. Keep in mind these are authentic actions from the heart, not inspired by organizations like the Red Cross. With all due respect to the Red Cross in a time of crisis many people would rather see things done immediately.
