Rides : Check Out a Rendered Version of the Cadillac ELR Convertible

Cadillac ELR Convertible rendered
The very first rendering with the Cadillac ELR Convertible has recently hit the web and it might provide us with a first glimpse into possible production version.
The North American based automaker Cadillac didn’t announce its details to develop a convertible version of the ELR just yet but that doesn’t mean that we don’t stand a chance of seeing it into a concept form at least. The image posted above is a rendering made by theophiluschin.com and we must admit that the drop-top version of the Cadillac ELR is quite attractive. Let’s hope GM decides to put it into production.
As a quick reminder, the regular version of the Cadillac ELR has been officially presented to the public a few weeks ago, during the 2013 North American International Auto Show (NAIAS) in Detroit. The model has a 2+2 layout, a luxurious cabin, chrome accents, wood inserts, an 8-inch configurable instrument and driver info display, electric power steering, ZF steering gear and more. The 2014 Cadillac ELR has a 16.5 kWh lithium-ion battery pack which is weighing 198 kg (435 lbs). Charging it from a 240V outlet takes 4.5 hours and when using a 120V outlet, the battery will be filled in 12 hours. A range extender in the shape of a 1.4 liter gasoline unit will allow the powertrain to develop a total output of 207 HP (154 kW) and 400 Nm of torque (295 lb-ft).
