Rides : Chris Harris discovers new niche with Mercedes-Benz CLS 63 AMG Shooting Brake

Chris Harris reviews Mercedes-Benz CLS Shooting Brake

There are a number of interesting tidbits in Chris Harris' review of the Mercedes-Benz CLS 63 AMG Shooting Brake, one of them being that he spends most of his seat time talking about the station wagon like it's a sports car. This isn't all that surprising if you limit yourself to the side of the spec sheet that lists "twin-turbo V8 with 557 horsepower and 531 pound-feet of torque, limited-slip differential and seven-speed paddle-shifted transmission."

One the other side, though, is the part about it being more than 16 feet long, having four doors, seating for five and a cargo capacity that can go from 590 liters to 1,550 liters by folding down the rear seats (that's about 21 cubic feet to 55 cubic feet). And that gets Harris examining how a wagon can not only fill a niche, but can actually be something special and, perhaps, even a cult vehicle.

Another measure of how far the automotive world has come is when Harris says, "Only a little 285-section [tire] at the back," which means a new goalpost for "little" tire sizes comes from a review of a station wagon.

Rides : Check Out The Mercedes-Benz CLS63 AMG by Vorsteiner

Mercedes-Benz CLS63 AMG by Vorsteiner previewed
The German aftermarket specialists at Vorsteiner have recently previewed their latest creation, a modified Mercedes-Benz CLS63 AMG with a great body kit.
The Mercedes-Benz CLS63 AMG is probably one of the few rides out there which can successfully take you to a business meeting in a fancy restaurant or out for a beer on a Friday night with your friends in the same style but the luxurious German vehicle has just gotten even hotter thanks to the guys at Vorsteiner, who have modified its exterior design and have also offered a power boost for the model.
According to the German tuning company, the Mercedes-Benz CLS63 AMG in question is bringing, amongst the unique paint job, a new body kit made out of a redesigned front bumper, a badgeless radiator grille, side skirt panels, fender grille covers, vented rear diffuser, a boot lid spoiler and a choice of brand new wheels ranging in size from 19 to 21 inches.
The performance of the Mercedes-Benz CLS63 AMG in question hasn’t been left aside either even if this model already has a powerful engine and the tuning company has fitted the model with a new sports exhaust which can be ordered in either stainless steel or titanium. Vorsteiner didn’t announce a price list for the upgrades just yet but more details on the model will be announced soon. Remember, this is just a preview.

Rides : Check Out the Mercedes-Benz CLS63 AMG Individual by Brabus

Mercedes-Benz CLS63 AMG Individual by Brabus revealed

The aftermarket specialists at Brabus have revealed a new upgrade package for the Mercedes-Benz CLS63 AMG Individual.
Brabus has given one last touch to the new Mercedes-Benz CLS63 AMG Individual and while other tuning houses are upgrading the previous generations of the four-door coupe. The German tuner has given the Mercedes-Benz CLS63 AMG an interesting new color for which the company’s designers were definitely paid more because the classic grey, white or black shades have been left aside. The four-door coupe’s new gold color hasn’t been applied on the rims too and the contrast between the two shades works just perfect.
For the interior design, the German tuner has chosen the purple color which can be found on just about everything, including the seats, floor mats or the roof. In order to get the best contrast between the exterior and the interior designs, the aftermarket specialists have used gold stitching throughout the cabin. Brabus didn’t say anything about what we might find under the hood of the Mercedes-Benz CLS63 AMG so it seems that the German four-door coupe will probably be offered with the same engine, developed by AMG, in the standard configuration. There is no official word on the price tag either but this will most likely be announced later on.
