Car Porn : Ariel Atom V8 pitted against Citroën DS3 racer and BMW HP4 superbike

Autocar took an Ariel Atom V8, BMW HP4 superbike and X-Games gold medalist Liam Doren's Citroën DS3 rallycross ride to an airstrip for a drag race. Sadly for all the drivers and for us, the clouds took to the sky and poured more and more rain on the track before the big race.

It's still a fun theoretical battle. The 550-kilogram Ariel Atom brings a 3.3-liter V8 with 475 horsepower, 268 pound-feet of torque and a 748-hp-per-ton ratio. The engine-restricted, 1,300-kg DS3 Rallycross rocks a 2.0-liter four-cylinder set for the day to about 560 hp, 600 lb-ft and – because of its variable boost – anywhere from 454-577 hp-per-ton. The HP4, naturally, does the most with the least, its 169 kg hauling a 1.0-liter engine with 163 hp, 83 lb-ft and a screaming 757 hp-per-ton.

It's a shame the weather didn't allow the entrants to show all they could do, especially the two-wheel-drive Atom. Nevertheless, it does demonstrate how critical the amount of available traction is to get the most from high-performance machinery, and there's lots of launch-controlled action and a winner crowned.

The German based automaker Mercedes-Benz has recently released a new promotional video with the CLA, revealing the elegant small four-door coupe in a whole new light.

After being officially unveiled in a world premiere, during the 2013 North American International Auto Show (NAIAS) in Detroit a couple of months ago, and then launched in several markets across the Old Continent, the Mercedes-Benz CLA is ending up in our news once again, this time with the help of a new promotional video. The Mercedes-Benz CLA is an elegant small four-door coupe, which is based on the new generation of the A-Class, sharing some engines with it.
In the United Kingdom, the cheapest version of the Mercedes-Benz CLA is the CLA 180 Sport, which is priced at 24,355 GBP. The model is getting a 120 HP 1.6 liter petrol engine under its hood, allowing it to accelerate from 0 to 62 mph in 9.3 seconds and doing 50.4 mpg. The CLA 220 CDI is priced at 29,355 GBP and it’s coming with a 2.1 liter four-cylinder engine, producing 168 BHP. The unit is mated to a seven-speed automatic transmission. The 0 to 62 mph sprint is done in 8.2 seconds and the model is returning 62.8 mpg.

Rides : Bentley teases new Flying Spur before Geneva debut

Last time we saw the 2014 Bentley Continental Flying Spur out testing, our only questions about the new car regarded its rear-end styling, and when the car would debut. Well now we know for certain that the car will be unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show, and we're also getting a better idea of what the car will look like thanks to Bentley releasing a brief teaser video.

The easiest-to-spot detail that we see in this Flying Spur video is the car's horizontal taillights – the first such on a Bentley since the 1990s. We can also see that this hyper-luxury sedan will get a more squared-off front end than its Continental GT counterpart. But, from what we can tell, it will receive a similarly laid out interior, including the three-spoke steering wheel.

As the official safety car of the World Superbike motorcycle racing series, it's a little odd that Alfa Romeo decided to publicize its Mito SBK by performing what appears to be a rather dangerous stunt. Odd... but awesome.

Officially known as the limited edition Alfa MiTo Quadrifoglio Verde SBK, the four-wheeler was driven by professional stunt driver Paul Swift at the Silverstone Circuit in Britain. Joining Swift was Chris "The Stalker" Walker on his Kawasaki Ninja, the two-wheeler that normally sees duty in the British Superbike class.

The footage posted below is revealing some interesting driving footage of both versions of the facelifted E63 AMG and if you’re looking into buying the model than you should definitely check it out.
As a quick reminder, the 2014 Mercedes-Benz E63 AMG is a facelifted version of the model. The “new” E63 AMG has an aggressive front fascia, new headlights and some other tweaks, which are helping it stand out from a crowd. The cabin of the model is getting updated trim, revised instrument cluster, newly designed air vents and more. Power to the E63 AMG facelift is being provided by a 5.5 liter twin-turbo V8 engine, generating a total output of 550 HP (405 kW) and 719 Nm of torque (531 lb-ft). Power is being sent to the 4MATIC all-wheel drive system.
