When rumors of the RS5 hit, we rejoiced — who doesn’t want a V8 strapped to the Quattro system with genuine seating for 4. But we also mourned a little. Its arrival seemed to mean that the RS4, one of our long-time favorites, really wasn’t coming back.
Unless Audi was crazy.
We should have seen this coming. Now, rumor has it, the RS4 is set to make it to the states.
The 2012 RS4 may be bound for our shores. It will carry an all-new V8 good for somewhere between 450 and 500 horsepower. It will, of course, carry the Quatto all-wheel-drive system, and be offered as a sedan or an Avant (the latter is Audi for wagon).
We hope the rumors are true. We have a soft-spot for four-door sedans that can blow the doors off of most people’s “sporty” cars…and see no problem with Audi selling the 4 and 5 together.
