First someone invents a dorm room robot that fires ice cold beer cans from an iPhone. Now we've been tipped off to a video of two engineers testing out a Mercedes-Benz SLS prototype allegedly powered by a Twitter feed. The Benz prototype is able to drive, park, start, and stop all via Twitter commands. If it's to be believed, the era of kick-ass, sci-fi inventions is truly upon us. We were pretty skeptical about the whole ploy until someone pointed us to the secure Twitter feed that allegedly powers the vehicle at the Mercedes-Benz Glenview Test Center are the German Mercedes developers. Of course, this is obviously part of a giant publicity stunt related to the Mercedes "Tweet Race" competition, which is sending four driving teams down to Dallas for the Super Bowl via Tweets from Mercedes followers. Even if you hate Twitter, you have to admit it's a fascinating — albeit a tad bit gimmicky — technological achievement.
