Rides : 2012 Mini Roadster starts at $25.050

With the 2011 Los Angeles Auto Show keeping everyone in the automotive industry busy, Mini has decided to give us something else to write about, such as the 2012 Roadster, which is priced at 25.050 USD for the entry-level version.

The “British” based automaker has recently announced the starting price for its 2012 Roadster, which has been set at 25.050 USD, $3.000 more than the new Coupe. The 2012 Mini Roadster Cooper S starts at $28.050 and the 2012 Mini Roadster John Cooper Works costs $35.200. All prices include the 700 USD shipping charge. Mini says that the 2012 Roadster is 146.8 inches long, 64.5 inches wide and 54.7 inches high, which makes it only 1 inch shorter, 1.9 inches narrower and 1 inch lower than the Cooper Cabriolet, but the new model will handle like a go-kart thanks to the electric power steering, DSC (Dynamic Stability Control), DTC (Dynamic Traction Control) with EDLC (Electric Differential Lock Control), roll-over bars polished in stainless steel and an active rear spoiler which extends automatically at 50 mph.
According to Mini, the Cooper Works Roadster comes with a 1.6 liter TwinPower Turbo engine (211 HP / 192 lb-ft of torque), the Cooper S roadster is powered by the same 1.6 liter engine (184 HP / 177 lb-ft of torque), the Cooper Roadster will be the least powerful version, with a 1.6 liter unit generating 122 HP and 118 lb-ft of torque and the Cooper SD Roadster will be equipped with a 2.0 liter diesel engine, developing 143 HP and 225 lb-ft of torque.
