The
new generation of the CX-5 crossover, 2013 model year, has recently
been presented to the public by its Japanese based automaker, Mazda, at
the 2011 Los Angeles Auto Show.
The 2013 Mazda CX-5 is powered by the SkyActiv-G 2.0 liter direct injection I-4 engine, which is developing a total output of 155 horsepower and has a peak torque of 150 lb-ft. The new generation of the crossover is offered with either a six-speed automatic or a six-speed manual transmission, with the all-wheel drive being available only with the automatic transmission. The Japanese based automaker says that its all-new CX-5 can achieve 26/33 mpg city/highway for the front-wheel drive layout, while the all-wheel drive version will get 26/32 mpg city/highway.
Even if Mazda didn’t officially announce the price list for the 2013 CX-5 compact crossover, the new model is expected to cost somewhere between $20.000 and $25.000 for the North American auto market. The new generation of the CX-5 is expected to hit the dealerships in the over-seas market early next year.
