The
new generation of the popular roadster Mercedes-Benz SL63 AMG has been
officially revealed, almost two months after the 2013 SL-Class made its
official debut at the North American International Auto Show (NAIAS) in
Detroit.
Under the hood, the 2013 Mercedes-Benz SL63 AMG is powered by the familiar M157 twin-turbocharged 5.5 liter V8 engine which is developing a total output of 529 horsepower. The new roadster is 110 kg (242 pounds) lighter than its predecessor, thanks to the all-aluminum bodyshell and magnesium components, which are helping the 0 to 62 mph acceleration time (4.2 seconds with the AMG Performance Pack). Fuel consumption is 30 percent lower at 28.5 mpg and CO2 emissions stop at 231 g/km compared to the previous 328 g/km.
