Sneakers celebrating Chinese New Year tend to release around the holiday each February, but the Year of the Rabbit will continue through early 2012. It seems like a long time to wait, but at least we know the Air Jordan 7 Retro ‘YOTR’ will drop before the Mayan calendar ends. In these new photos, we get a better sense for how the grey/white base looks in everyday lighting conditions, something that’s particularly important for seeing the true shades of red and gold accents that give this upcoming release a distinct character when compared to the similar AJ7 ‘Hare’.

Kicks : Air Jordan VII Retro GS – Mineral Blue – Bright Violet | March 2011
The last time we saw an Air Jordan VII Retro with a two-toned base and purple accents was one of the 2006 releases, a pair equally loved by male and female sneakerheads. That same enthusiasm would be appropriate for this newly revealed AJVII Retro, except many guys are gonna be precluded by this pair’s GS status. Grade school size runs are typically reserved for girls releases, but is there any doubt this Grape-y look would be an instant sellout in a full size run? These are set to drop in March (also in preschool and toddler sizes) alongside the Orion Blue Air Jordan 7, so which one would you rather rock? via IRV1NG310 on NT
