Rides : 2013 Porsche Cayenne Turbo S hits the track

The German based automaker Porsche has release the first video with the new Cayenne Turbo S hitting the track and showing us what it’s got.

After it was unveiled just earlier today, the new generation of the Porsche Cayenne Turbo S is being placed into the spotlights once again, this time with the carmaker releasing the very first video with the model. The 2013 Porsche Cayenne S has been scheduled to reach the German and UK market in January next year and the model will be priced at 151,702 and 107,460 pounds, respectively.
Power to the new Porsche Cayenne Turbo S is coming from the same 4.8 liter V8 engine found on the Cayenne Turbo and on the Panamera Turbo S, which benefits from additional modifications like the remapped electronics, more free flowing inlet manifold or increased turbocharger boost pressure. This is enough to squeeze an extra 50 HP (37 kW) increasing the output to 550 HP (410 kW) and 750 Nm (553 lb-ft).
The new Porsche Cayenne Turbo S cn accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 4.5 seconds and it can reach a top speed of 284 km/h. Fuel consumption stands at 11.5 liters every 100 km (24.6 mpg UK / 20.4 mpg US) and the CO2 emissions stop at 270 g/km.

Rides : Cayenne raises Porsche’s operating profit to over 1 billion euros

The doubling sales of the Cayenne SUV in the first six months of the year brought Porsche an operating profit of over 1.07 billion euros, compared to the same period of 2010, when the car manufacturer gained “only” 675 million euros.

“Thanks to a very attractive model range, Porsche AG received a globally high demand for sport models in the premium segment”, said the head of Porsche Management, Matthias Mueller.
“We were able to finance all the investments in our cash-flow. This achievement is assigned to our high income and to a healthy cost structure within Porsche AG. We expect to finance all of the future projects from our cash-flow. This highlights our aspiration to remain one of the most profitable car manufacturers in the world”, said Lutz Meschke, head of the Porsche Financial Department.

Porsche Cayenne was the most sold model in the first six months of this year, with 28.405 units globally. The SUV has doubled its sales compared to the same period of 2012 and the premium Cayenne S Hybrid was chosen by almost 2.000 customers.
On the other hand, Panamera’s sales decreased by 3.2 percent, with 11.567 units, but sales of the four-door model are expected to increase with the diesel version.
The most powerful increase of Porsche’s sales was recorded in China, with 47.1 percent more than the same period of 2010.

Rides : HAMANN Guardian Unveiled as Tweaked 550HP Porsche Cayenne Turbo at 2011 Geneva Motor Show

HAMANN may not be known for its discretion in the styling department, but their creations have flair and pizazz that is unmistakable. This holds true for their latest model, the Guardian, based on the Porsche Cayenne Turbo. Unveiled at the 2011 Geneva Motor Show, this heavily tuned and modified SUV is a sinister brute. The German tuner is known for delivering the full monte and Stuttgart's finest gets a smorgasbord of tweaks both inside and out as well as under the hood. 

The HAMANN Guardian has an extensive wide body kit which includes an extended front apron with large air ducts, a carbon-fiber hood with "power dome", side skirts, underbody components and a rear apron with integrated diffuser with proper spacing for the oversized centrally mounted tailpipes. The wings widen the Cayenne by 120 mm at the front axle and 160 at the rear. HAMANN gets a little light happy with integrated LED running lights along with additional full beam and LED fog lights.

Performance improvements come by way of an ECU reflash, sports air filter, sports catalyst and sports silencer. The stock 493hp is trumped up to 544hp and 568 lb-ft of torque. This allows the Guardian to hit 62 mph from a sprint in just 4.6 seconds on a way to a top speed of 186 mph.

The Porsche Cayenne Turbo rides up to 35mm lower on 23-inch lightweight forged alloy wheels wrapped in Dunlop Sport Maxx tires thanks to a new air suspension module. Slowing down all this heft are ceramic sport brakes with six-piston calipers up front and four-piston calipers in back. 

HAMANN doesn't skimp on the interior and tosses in some top notch materials with stitched embroideries on the seats and dash along with a sport steering wheel. And no tuning package would be truly complete without plenty of carbon fiber tossed on the instrument cluster and consoles. No word yet on price for the 2011 HAMANN Guradian but steep would probably be an understatement.

Integrated additional daylight running lights as well as full beam and fog lights in LED technology increase the passive safety. An ultra-light carbon bonnet with a slit "power dome" renders optimal ventilation of the front engine. The HAMANN GUARDIAN draws its virility from wing extensions with side skirts which extend the car by impressive 120 millimetres at the front axle and 160 millimetres at the back. The HAMANN rear apron with an integrated diffuser perfects the superior appearance and provides room for the two central stainless steel end pipes measuring 120 millimetres in width, the highlight of the sonorous sports exhaust system.

Apart from excellent sound, the Southern German refiner puts special emphasis on an extensive performance increase. By combining the HAMANN components sports silencer, sports catalysts, sports air filter and an optimized engine map, a performance increase to 550 hp / 405 kW at 6,100 r.p.m. can be achieved. Also, the torque rises to enormous 770 Newton metres at 2,300 - 4,600 r.p.m. The modified Porsche-SUV accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in only 4.6 seconds and increases its top speed up to 300 km/h.

MOV´IT CERAMIC sports brake and XXL designer wheels

The HAMANN GUARDIAN presents excellent deceleration measures due to a CERAMIC sports brake system which was developed in combination with MOV´IT. Brake discs measuring 420 x 40 mm (in the front) and 380 x 32 mm (in the back) are clamped by six front piston calipers and four rear piston calipers.

As the maximum wheel-tyre combination, the refining specialist recommends the ultra-light 11Jx23 inch rims Unique Forged which at that range are suitable for Dunlop Sport Maxx tyres sized 315/25 R23 and render a powerful, individual look. The virile appearance can be further enhanced by HAMANN underbody components. A sports module has been developed especially for the Cayenne´s air suspension and thanks to this serial enhancement, the HAMANN Guardian can be lowered by up to 35 mm.

HAMANN solely uses first class materials for its interior designs. Masterly stitched embroideries on the dash board and the seats further emphasise the beautiful overall impression of the full leather equipment.
