Music Video : Zedd - 'Stache

Featuring a scientist in a lab and soldiers on the hunt, the music video for Zedd’s “Stache” evokes images of “Call of Duty” and “Mortal Kombat” combined with a little bit of Dexter’s Laboratory. The track, however, is solid gold. The glitchy electronic chords nod their head to theme songs from our favorite video games, while a hard-hitting beat and climatic buildups create a musical storyline in this unexpectedly lively track. Just released on his new album, “Clarity,” “Stache” is one of those rare instrumental gems every DJ should keep in his personal file of favorites.

DJ Mehdi Dead: Electro Producer Has Reportedly Passed Away At 34

DJ Mehdi has reportedly died. His publicist confirmed that the hip hop/electro producer passed away at the age of 34, Consequence of Sound reports. The cause of death is still unknown, though initial reports are calling it an accident.
The news first started trickling out on Twitter and was thought to be a hoax. DJ Cut Killer wrote, “DJ Mehdi !!! There are no words to tell you the sorrow which I feel… A friend goes from there… Rest in peace bro.” Drake and Chromeo followed, tweeting, "Damn…RIP MEHDI," and "We lost our brother. No words," respectively.
According to Resident Advisor, an electronic music magazine, Paris Social Club posted the following message to their Facebook page: "Following the death of DJ Mehdi, we have made the exceptional decision to close the club tonight. An evening of silence in honor of the artist. Thank you for not commenting on this status."
Mehdi Faveris-Essadi, known by his stage name DJ Medhi, was French-born and of Tunisian descent. He first gained ground for his underground work in France's hip hop scene, and started to really get noticed when he signed with French electro label Ed Banger Records. The young producer had collaborated with a number of big names, including MC Solarr, Daft Punk, Cassius, Carol King, and with Chromeo on his single "I Am Somebody," which you can listen to below.

Events : The Electric Daisy Festival 2011 Is Now In Las Vegas

The U.S. dance music festival that ended in chaos last year after more than 100 revellers were admitted to hospital after fans scrambled to gain access has moved to Las Vegas.

Organisers of the Electric Daisy Carnival were heavily criticized following the event at the Memorial Coliseum and Exposition Park in Los Angeles, which was headlined by Moby.

Official reports suggest many of the fans injured were caught as crowds rushed the gates and barriers in a bid to force their way into the event, which 185,000 music fans attended.

The promoters, Insomnia, have since hired Investigative Advisory Group, a consulting firm that has experience creating overall safety and security protocols for large venues, to analyze their current and proposed safety protocols and procedures for the company's music festivals throughout the U.S.
They also established an '18 and older' policy for all its dance music festivals after a 15-year-old reveller died from a drug overdose at the festival.

And they're not letting the events of last year's festival halt plans for a 2011 bash - this year's Electric Daisy Carnival will be held at Las Vegas Motor Speedway over the final weekend in June.
